One important side of these quests is that you must traverse large portions of the map so it is useful for getting to know the surroundings. Story Quests are also a part of the learning experience, and they give rewards in the form of dynasty points. Chapter quests do not time out but you should do them as soon as possible anyway. The only thing I really dislike is that you have to do it all over again when starting a new game.Ĭhapter Quests are essential as they both teach you how to play and open new possibilities, especially important is the change in building limits. Another is to unlock new possibilities, give reward and so on. One of them is to teach new players how the game works. The Quests system will probably annoy some players but they are there for good reasons. Nothing is right or wrong - how you want to play is entirely up to you. I do not see the point in unlimited strength, health and so on in a game like this, but others may differ. When you had most of the events, at least once, the novelty wears off and you may want to disable them for new games. Events add some unpredictability to the game so for new players I recommend to keep it on. I can however see scenarios where you in a “mature game” would like to establish several settlements, or perhaps move the initial settlement and it will be much more practical with a higher building limit.įinally for the later game starts I have dropped “Events”. The standard 65 buildings are actually more than enough for a single settlement. Increasing the building limit is a good idea if your hardware can cope with extra stress. If you want to have a bit of “Action” ongoing game you can just change later on. Also I do not feel the need for combat in a game like this and I hope the developer do not listen to the tiny minority that screams for fighting, war and all types of combat in every game under the sun. In the early runs I found them more annoying than threatening. Gathering the resources takes enough time to make sure crafting sellable items is not too quick and easy. I choose “fast crafting” as I see no point in watching a “spinning wheel” a very long time, again and again and again. Now that we can change the settings in a game after it is started it is no longer a disaster to have chosen bad starting parameters. I will possibly update the guide later on but not before I start a fresh game in the Valley. There are many other changes but other than the economy the thing you probably will notice first is that animals are more aggressive and more difficult to kill. You kill bandits to take all their money, food and other resources. Now that the economy is changed there is actually an incentive to having bandits active in the Valley. Many players, including me, disabled "bandits" in the original game as they mainly were annoying. The change in economy makes it much more important to explore early on to find "missing shipment", crashed carts and other sources of "free" goods and coins. Crafting knives in the beginning may still be worth the effort, but it will be much more of an effort. Values for basic crafted items is much lower. In the new version there are some important changes to economy. If the game won't start at all, so you can't access the settings ingame, you can also do that thru launch parameter. This guide has not been updated after the Oxbow release. After you started the game, on the main menu, press - settings - graphics) and changing Rendering mode to DirectX 11. Your system probably doesn't support DirectX 12, so you should change the game settings to directX 11 again. (Btw This has nothing to do with the original post, so in future when you have an issue, you should open your own topic for it.) I even uninstalled the game twice and reinstalled it and it's still the same. Every time before starting the game I check the integrity of the files and it's ok. With error DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED with Reason:ĭXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG. LowLevelFatalError hr failed atĭ:/Build/++UE4/Sync/Engine/Source/Runtime/D3D12RHI/Private/D3D12Resources.cpp:477 The problem occurs when loading the game or after loading. The game wants drivers or something for Direct 12 and I have 11. I'm having trouble launching the game after the last update. Originally posted by Misiakos1612:hello all.
